Holiday Party & Silent Auction
Program Review: Members turned out for our
Annual Holiday Party & Silent Auction in good spirits. About 25 of us enjoyed
each other's company while sampling the tasty treats: roast beef sandwiches, cookies,
cakes, fruit and veggie trays, etc.
Karissa and the auction volunteers ran the timed ten tabled silent auction
with much success. Most every item sold and changed hands to happy customers.
Various fossils, minerals, tools and supplies were offered. Among
some of the most notable finds were: a pair of silver trilobite rings, some fluorescent
apatite crystals (Arthur loaned his UV lamp for us to see), big purple fluorite cubes, and
much more!
I'm not sure of the total funds raised, but a suggested 15% of the sales
were donated from the proceeds. Check the next Geogram for details.
All in all, it was a pleasant party experience. I am looking forward
to looking at the specimens I won and putting them on display in my newly-built rock
display case.
