"Show Raffle Prizes! We had several Raffle Prizes of beautiful mineral, fossil specimens, or jewelry, more than in previous years. Tickets were available at the door. Drawing was held Sunday, March 4, 2012 just before 5:00 PM. You need not have been present to win. Congratulations! Here are some of our Prizes: Winners had the opportunity to pick up their prize at the end of Show, March 4th, or can do so at our club meeting on Monday March 12, 2012 at 7PM at the Historic Greenbank Mill, Price's Corner, Wilmington, Delaware.  Please bring your raffle tickets to successfully redeem for your prize. All winners receive a FREE individual membership to the Delaware Mineralogical Society until December 31, 2012. If winner is not available at the time of our meeting, please contact Ken Casey, President at kencasey98@yahoo.com. We can then make arrangements to give you your prize in a convenient and timely fashion. Congratulations, Winners!     All winners will receive a free DMS Membership until December 31, 2012.         Everyone, please come back next year for our March 2-3, 2013 Show! It will be our 50th Show!

About Our Show

FEATURES:

• Interesting and educational exhibits of mineral, lapidary and fossil specimens

• Displays from the Iron Hill Museum and the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum

• Larger facilities with an expanded list of outstanding dealers of minerals, fossils, gems, jewelry and lapidary supplies.

• Hourly door prizes and large specimen raffle. 

• Demonstrations included: Lapidary, Faceting, Beading, Chain-maile, Wax-carving, Scrimshaw, Cabbing, Wirewrapping, Wirewrapping Rings, Pearl Stringing, Bead Crocheting, and Gem Tree Making!

• Children’s booth where youngsters of all ages purchased inexpensive minerals, fossils and grab bags.

• FREE pieces of Delaware Petrified Wood for all kids, while supplies last.

• Members from the Delaware Archaeological Society will be on hand to identify your local Native American and Colonial artifacts. They will have many stone tools on display.

• Two New dealers will offer a vast selection of minerals and fossils.

• Airswimmers will add to our already festive atmosphere.

• Wall-projected slide show of our fun club activities.

• We intend to expand the 'Fluorescetorium' to include an additional display of 'glowing' minerals.

• Campus cafeteria has vending machines open most of the day for light snacks. Over 10 restaurants within one mile.

• Local Girl Scouts offered cookies and bottled beverages for sale.

• Adults $6.00 ($1.00 off with printed coupon)
  Seniors $ 5.00
  Juniors (12-16) $4.00
  Children under 12  FREE with adult
  Scouts in Uniform   FREE
