"Show Raffle Prizes!

We had several Raffle Prizes of beautiful minerals, fossil specimens, jewelry, and lapidary equipment. Tickets were available at the door. Drawing was held Sunday, March 3, 2013 just around 5:00 PM. You need not had been present to win. Five lucky winners were chosen and contacted by phone just after.

We telephoned the winners, none of whom were present. Winners had the opportunity to pick up their prize at the end of Show, March 3rd, or can do so at our club meeting on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 7PM at the Historic Greenbank Mill, Price's Corner, Wilmington, Delaware. 

Please bring your raffle tickets to successfully redeem for your prize.

All winners receive a FREE individual membership to the Delaware Mineralogical Society until December 31, 2013.

If winner is not available at the time of our meetings, please contact Ken Casey, President at kencasey98@yahoo.com.

We can then make arrangements to give you your prize in a convenient and timely fashion.

About Our Show

FEATURES:

  • Demonstrations by club members and folks from the Tuscarora Lapidary Society may include: Mineral & Fossil Identification, Lapidary, Faceting, Beading, Chain-maile, Wax-carving, Scrimshaw, Cabbing, Wirewrapping, Wirewrapping Rings, Pearl Stringing, Bead Crocheting, and Gem Tree Making!

  • Club Members' booth where folks can purchase self-collected specimens and self-made jewelry items at low cost.

  • Children’s booth where youngsters of all ages purchased inexpensive minerals, fossils and grab bags.

  • FREE pieces of Delaware Petrified Wood for all kids, while supplies last.

  • Members from the Delaware Archaeological Society will be on hand to identify your local Native American and Colonial artifacts. They will have many stone tools on display.

  • New high-end gemstone bead dealer will offer a vast selection.

  • Wall-projected slide show of our fun club activities.

  • Campus cafeteria has vending machines open most of the day for light snacks. Over 10 restaurants within one mile.

  • Hot Dog vendor near entrance.

  • Adults $6.00 ($1.00 off with printed coupon)
    Seniors $ 5.00
    Juniors (12-16) $4.00
    Children under 12  FREE with adult
    Scouts in Uniform   FREE

    Tickets were available at the door.

As of January 22, 2013, a massive interchange construction project on I-95 may have exits change by the time of our Show. You may need to update your GPS, or refer to DelDot's I-95 Project Page for the latest updates

Don't worry, there are many alternate routes to DelTech. We will try to update specific directions, as best we can. See you at the Show!

Directions:

From I-95 South:

--Take the SR-58 exit- EXIT 4B- toward SR-7 North/STANTON/METROFORM. Current large-scale construction projects may have diverted access to the College.

--Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp

--Stay straight to go onto CHURCHMANS RD/DE-58 W

--Turn SLIGHT RIGHT into DTCC parking lot

 

From I-95 North:

Due to Construction, Exit 4B on I-95 N is closed.

Probably the preferred way
:

--From I-95 North
--Take exit-3A for Rt-273 East
--Follow 273 to juncture of Rt-1
--Left onto Rt-1 North
--Continue on Rt-1 to junction of Rt-58 (Churchman's Road east)
--Exit right on to Churchman Rd east, DTCC immediately on left at first light.

Alternate route:

--From I-95 North
--Take exit 3B for Rt-273 West (Newark)
--Then turn right at first traffic light (Harmony Road)
--Proceed to junction of Rt-4 (Ogletown Stanton Road)
--Turn right onto Rt-4, follow to junction of Rt-58 east (Churchman's Road)
--Follow Rt-58 East ~1 mile, DTCC will be on left.
 
 

From New Castle County Airport:

--Take U. S. Route 13/40 North

--Exit to I-295 South

--At I-95N/I-295S split, take I-95 South (bear left)

--Move over to right lane less than 1 mile after merge

--Take Exit 4B at Churchman's Road from there

--Climbing exit ramp, you will see DTCC on your right.  Enter DTCC parking lot there.

 

Locally:

--Take Rt. 13/40 South to Hare's Corner (New Castle Farmer's Market)

--Turn Right onto Rt. 273 West

--Bear Right onto Rt. 58 (Churchman's Road)

--Cross overpass over I-95

--Follow until you see DTCC on your right

--Carefully merge into right lane.  Enter DTCC parking lot there.

Highway construction is going on during our Show, so please be careful.
