T’S SHOW TIME!!
Show dates: Saturday March 3 and
Sunday March 4, 2012
Our annual show is just around the corner, and now
is the time to start thinking about an exhibit.
This year’s theme is ‘Made Mined in
America’.
So, ask your parents if you can join in the fun.
There are a lot of our club members out there who
have interesting specimens and collections. What
better way to share your enthusiasm and your treasures than by
organizing them to exhibit in one of our display cases at the March
show!
If you have never prepared an exhibit and do not
know where to start, do not let this deter you. We
have printed guidelines and experienced exhibitors who are willing to
advise you to enable you to put your first exhibit together.
There are several classes and categories to choose from.
You may choose to compete (against a standard, not against other
competitors), or to be non-competitive. The Club
provides the display cases, including liners and lighting.
Have your parents take a look at the exhibit entry
form in this newsletter to obtain more information.
Fill it out and mail it in! I also have the entry
form in an electronic format (MS
Word or
Adobe PDF), if you would prefer.
We also have two Club showcases, and are always
looking for interesting specimens from our club members for these cases.
I coordinate the Club Theme showcase. Items in
this display case follow this year’s show theme. Tom Pankratz
coordinates the Club Field Trip case, which showcases specimens that
have been collected by our members on club field trips.
Please have your parents call or email me if you
are interested or need more information.
