C&D Canal Fossil Collecting Trip. This is
a family friendly fieldtrip to the North Reedy Point spoil area
along the C&D
Canal just outside of Delaware City
in New Castle County, DE. Fossils include: Cretaceous belemnites,
oysters, and microfossils. Bring a sifting box and small
shovel, though fossils can also be collected from the surface
sand. We will meet at the C&D Canal
at 1 PM. Please sign up for the trip by
September 24th.

spoil piles at Reedy Point along the C&D Canal. Please let me know by March 25
if you would be interested in attending this trip! Twenty members got to enjoy this
trip (12 adults, 8 Junior members)!
May 15, 2004, Saturday: C & D Canal, Delaware
City, DE. Our trip to the canal yielded some nice fossil specimens. We found
Belemnite, the Delaware State
Fossil, and various other marine invertebrates.
